U.S. Army

Cody Allyn Claycamp was born in Willmar, Minnesota. He was the son of Harold Freshour and Marsha Claycamp. He attended Grace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, MN and graduated from the Hutchinson High School class of 2014. As a youth he loved being active in his church. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, staying active and helping someone out any chance he could. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Cody entered active military service in the United States Army on March 3, 2015 at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis, with initial Basic Training at Fort Benning, Georgia. He served as infantry. He was deployed to Afganistan in April 2017, and was based out of Fort bliss in El Paso, Texas. He achieved the rank of Specialist.

Cody lost his life Sunday, May 13, 2018, at the age of 22 years. He is survived by his parents Marsha and Jeremy Freyholz of Hutchinson; parents Harold and Betty Freshour of Stacy; son Steven Stubblefield of Eagle, Michigan, and his brothers and sisters. He is also mourned by his grandparents, and many other family members and friends. He is buried in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson. Special music was “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art.” Casket Bearers were the Army National Guard.

We thank Cody for his service to our country. It was my pleasure to paint this special young man, and we send our deepest sympathy (along with our gratitude) to his family and friends.
